MEMBERSHIP
What type of membership to ask for;
There are four grades of Membership;
Full Member: To become a full member you will have been involved in engineering for at least three years. You will be a technician, draughts person, designer, supervisor, production engineer or similar. You will be actively involved in Engineering, Science, Technology or a manufacturing industry. You also qualify if you are an Employer, Manager or Consultant in any recognised engineering discipline.
Honorary Member: This grade is for those who are not actively engaged in engineering, for instance, retired engineers or just people who have not chosen engineering as a career, but have a strong interest, for example, model engineers.
Corporate Member. This grade is open to companies. A corporate member may designate any of the employees of the company to attend and enjoy all the facilities of a full member, other than voting rights. A corporate member will have one vote which will be cast by the designated company contact,or a named proxy.
Student and Associate Member: To qualify for this grade, you will be a Student or Apprentice in any of the disciplines listed above. You will be aged between 18 and 25 years old. From 25 years old you will be offered full membership.
How
much?
To
join the association there is an enrolment fee of £5,
which should be enclosed with your application form.
Your application will be presented to our membership and when you are
elected you will be required to pay an annual subscription for the
rest of the current finacial year.(if your application is near the
date of subscription renewal, common sense will be used)

What
you get for your money.
The
association meets each month from September to May. The meetings comprise
either site visits or lectures typically four of each. These events are
always very interesting and varied in content. (Click
here to see our program for this year.).
In addition to the above there is the annual golf tournament in June/July, which is arranged at one of the premier local clubs.
The annual dinner is always popular and well attended, local firms can take a whole table for their guests. Traditionally, our guests include the Lord Mayor of Leeds, and our Hon' Chaplain, the Rector of Leeds and a Speaker.
We also have a Summer Solstice walk around the 21st June each year.
